"I began my creative journey at age 5, inspired by my grandmother
as I sat and watched her paint. One summer I was given my own canvas,
a set of brushes and oil paints. I have been in love with art ever since."
Jodi has lived in New Windsor, Md. for the past seventeen years. In 1984 she graduated from Hood College with a BA in Fine Art
and later earned a Master of Arts degree from George Washington University in Art Therapy. While she deeply enjoyed working
as an art therapist with children, adolescents, and adults, she found little time to create her own personal artwork. She formed her
own business creating decorative paintings and wall murals for schools, residential, and commercial clients. Since that time,
Jodi has come full circle to where her journey began----painting with oil on canvas. Her subject matter is local landscapes, still life,
and the human figure. Jodi's artwork has been featured in The Washington Post and Carroll County Times, and she has appeared
as a featured artist on Maryland Public Television. Jodi belongs to The Artist Angle of Frederick, the Frederick Plein Air Association,
and participates in juried art exhibits at the Burwell Morgan Mill in Millwood, Va. as well as local art shows and venues. Jodi offers
private as well as group instruction.
